Vietnam continues to respond well to improved trading conditions with a significant uptick year on year. This reflects the Vietnamese supply chain’s feedlot capacity and ability to house larger numbers at short notice.
Indonesia continues to struggle due to the well reported skin lesion issues and generally sombre market conditions for our largest live cattle trading partners.
A larger than usual consignment of slaughter cattle to Malaysia may raise hopes of a return for the market which has historically been a destination for second grade export cattle.

Live exporters have focused heavily on the Queensland market for supply of cheaper cattle and larger lines resulting in export volumes from Townsville doubling in comparison to the same time last year.
The trade of dairy cattle from Portland has seen as significant downturn with challenging trading conditions. This despite the closure of the New Zealand dairy cattle trade which was expected to result in increased volumes from Australia taking up the slack.
